We went down to Belton for the weekend and had a great time with friends.
On Saturday Ivy was BOS.
We had a blast seeing Kathleen Holt who wrote a recap of her weekend with
Tessa (A-CH Rainyday's Busby Babe NA NAJ NJP TG-N TN-N WV-N PJII CGC) and
Keelin (Rainyday's Nobody Does it Better ASCA CD CGC):
Home from an AKC show in Belton. Keelin earned her Rally Novice
title on Saturday, and on Sunday she earned her first leg for Advanced Rally.
We got an 88, but 10 of those points were my fault for not doing a sign
correctly (I'm still learning all the ins and outs of rally exercises).
Unfortunately, she broke her sit-stay (laid down at 45 seconds!) both days....argghhh.
Tessa had two runs in Open Jumpers. On Sat I made the mistake
of taking her to see Kate at the side of the ring right before we ran. In our
runs when we got to that side of the arena, she blew past the weaves, and
started to search for Kate! I got her back, and we continued, but had another
off-course, but I didn't care, as she was running like the wind, and we had a
great time. Today we NQ'd again, but again had a fast and fun run.
Kate and Linda were there for conformation, and we had a great
time visiting with them. And it was fun to cheer on Karen showing Cody. A
great weekend!
In other news... we heard that Ziggy (AKC/UKC CH Rainyday's Ziggy
Stardust NA) earned his FDGCH this weekend!
Up in Iowa, Pam Craft-Speck took Twister (Rainyday's Texas Tornado) to an
AKC show where he finished his RN on Friday and got his first RA leg on
Saturday with a first place and a 197! He also earned his first CD on
Saturday with a 192 and a second place and a second CD leg on Sunday! Way to
go guys!
Over in NM, Vicki and David Telles went to a UKC obedience trial. Vicki
reports about her Spark son, Hammie:
Well, we had a mixed weekend
at the UKC obedience and Rally Trial in NM this weekend. On Saturday I showed
Hammie in Open A at both Obedience Trials. He did pass every exercise at least
once, but not all in the same trial. He came very close in the afternoon and I
thought we had it until he laid down on the long sit (which he had held in the
morning even though every other dog in the class went down). Arrgh.
Today’s Rally Trial was
great. Non-Rainyday Twinkle Q’d in RO1 (the equivalent of Novice) with a 95 for
her title. Mr. Hammie outdid himself. He scored a perfect 100 in RO1 for his
title, a class first and Rally HIT (which they give in UKC). We’ve told him
since he was 8 weeks old that he is the perfect puppy and today he proved it.

We had a great time at the AKC shows in OK this weekend. On Saturday Ivy
(AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's For Your Eyes Only) was BOB and on Sunday Ivy was
BOS!
Great note from Kathleen about Keelin and Tessa:
Hi everyone,
I spent the weekend at a NADAC trial in San Marcos. We had a
great time! Tessa earned four Qs in four runs, three firsts and a second. We
earned our Novice Tunnelers (in a smokin' run~a friend said she was a black
streak!) and Weavers titles, and two Open Jumpers legs. Keelin did four runs
each day, and we managed to scrape a Q in Novice standard. Her other runs were
great training, great stays, good contacts and she's starting to get the idea
of running with mom, and talking ALL the jumps in the path!
It was such fun to be with good friends, seeing all the
wonderful pups having a great time. Life is good!
And next week, Belton for AKC agility, obedience and rally!
Plus a bonus of seeing Kate, Ron, Karen and new champion Cody.....

7- November 8

Great note from Nellie Morack about Izzy (CKC/UKC CH
Rainyday's In Your Dreams):
Well, she broke the Reserve streak she has been on! Izzy was
WB/BOW for her first 2 points today at the Grand Rapids AKC show!!!! The judge
couldn't take her eyes off her! I thought she was going to get BOB!
Nellie & Izzy
And a great note from Kathleen Holt:
Hi everyone,
I spent the weekend playing with my pups. Saturday I crawled
out of bed extra early and made the 2.5 hour drive to Ft Worth for an ASCA
show. Tessa was entered in conformation and Keelin in obedience. Despite a
spotty free-heel, Kee had a great obedience run, and we earned our third Q,
for her CD!
While there we got to hang out with Laura and Mayzie, and some
other agility friends...Tessa was thrilled to see her sister!
Today I took the girls to the AKC agility trial in Austin. We
met Janae and Rex and Annie. What a great time! Janae is super nice, and we
had a great visit. A lot of my agility friends were running there too, and I
really enjoyed seeing everyone run.
Congrats on everyone else's weekends....

What a great weekend :-) We went to the weekend portion of the Amarillo
AKC show. On Saturday, Ron and Karen Bailey's boy Cody (ASCA CH Rainyday's
In the Wild West) was WD and Ellen (Rainyday's Loves to Dance) was WB/BOW.
Ellen is co-owned by Rainyday and Shella Barclay. Vicki and David Telles'
boy Chip (Rainyday One Red Hot Chipolte) was RWD and Ivy (AKC/ASCA CH
Rainyday's For Your Eyes Only) was BOS. On Sunday Cody and Chip repeated
their WD and RWD wins. Our Eleanor (ASCA
CH Rainyday's Eleanor Rigby) was WB/BOW and Ivy was BOB and on to a Group
Three!
In addition, Lisa Kelley's Cruise (Rainyday's All the Right Moves) had
his rally debut this weekend and earned his RN with scores of 100, 99 and
100 and a first and two second place wins! Lisa moved Cruise up on Sunday
and earned his first RA leg!
Vicki and David's Spark son Hammie also finished his AKC CD!
In other news... we had this exciting note from Linda Grant about Elki:
Well, first off I want to
congratulate everyone's accomplishments these past few weeks. We have
been on the road, coming back from the ASCA Nationals, so my email
connections have been sporadic. Lots of talented Rainyday Aussies out
there, doing fantastic in everything attempted.
This is the last weekend before we
finally get home after being gone for 7 weeks with 7 dogs in our RV.
This weekend is an AKC herding trial and Elki was entered.
Unfortunately, Elki came into season, the first of the week, but in
herding they let them run in the order for the trials, so that is good.
Yesterday, in Intermediate Sheep, she
got a 1st place and then Reserve High in Trial for her first leg.
Today, again, she got a 1st place and another Reserve High in Trial on
Intermediate Sheep. Her scores were within 1.5 points of each other so
she is pretty consistent.
Nice way to end the long trip...
and, we did stop in Amarillo and had dinner at the Big Texan. What a
fun place, although we were there mid week and we didn't get to see
anyone attempt to eat the 72 oz steak. I can imagine that must be a
riot to watch. Maybe next time we are out that way -- maybe the 2010
ASCA Nationals ????

Toria poses for the holiday!
October
24-25

We had a blast at the AKC show in Austin, TX. On Saturday Eleanor (ASCA
CH Rainyday's Eleanor Rigby) was WB/BOW for two points and Ivy (AKC/ASCA CH
Rainyday's For Your Eyes Only) was BOS. On Sunday Eleanor was WB for another
two points and Ivy was BOB. Eleanor now has twelve points and just needs
three singles to finish!
We heard that Ivy's son, Rainyday's Nolan Ryan, was WD/BOW at the AKC
show in Belton, AR on Sat and RWD on Sunday. Way to go Erin and Nolan!
We also heard that Baker's daughter, AKC CH Hearthside's Say it Like it
Iz finished her ASCA championship this weekend! Way to go Izzy!
October
17-18

We had a great time at the Lawton, OK AKC shows. On Saturday,
Ron and Karen Bailey's boy Cody (ASCA CH Rainyday's In The Wild West) was RWD,
our Eleanor (ASCA CH Rainyday's Eleanor Rigby) was WB/BOW and our special girl
Ivy (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's For Your Eyes Only) was BOB and won a Group Two. On
Sunday Shella Barclay's girl Ellen (Rainyday's Loves to Dance) was WB/BOW,
Eleanor was RWB and Ivy was BOB and won a Group One! Ivy has now been in the AKC
ring 4 times since she got back home and she has earned 3 BOB's, a Group Three,
a Group Two and a Group One. Not a bad start! Our girl is the fourth group
winner in her litter - what a fantastic bunch they are!
We also heard that Cherie Gessford's Ivy's daughter Reva (Rainyday's SIerra
Sunrise RN CL1-F CL1-H CL1-S CGC) earned her RN this weekend with a score of 99!
Reva also earned several more legs towards her CPE agility titles. She is on a
roll!
Kathleen Holt wrote to let us know that Tessa (A-CH
Rainyday's Busby Babe NJP NAC NJC PJ1 CGC) earned two NAJ Q's in Belton and that
Keelin (Rainyday's Nobody Does It Better CGC) earned two RN legs and an AKC CD
leg. What a weekend!
October
10-11

We stayed home this weekend, but it sounds like Rainyday dogs had a
blast across the country! David and Vicki Telles took their boys, Hammie and
Chip, to the Los Lunas AKC show. Chip (Rainyday's One Red Hot Chipolte) was
WD on Sat and RWD on Sunday! Hammie, a Spark son bred by Celeste Telles, Q'd
in obedience with a 193 and a first place win.
Laura Baar wrote that Tony (ASCA CH Rainyday's You Make My Heart Sing CD
RN) earned his second rally advanced leg on Saturday at the Canton, TX AKC
show!
Pam Craft wrote to let us know that she and Twister (Rainyday's Texas
Tornado) attended the AKC show in Iowa where Twister was RWD on Saturday and
WD on Sunday. He also got 2 rally novice legs, despite the fact Pam had
conflicts both days and ran straight from breed into rally.
We also had a great note from Erin Holley who took her boys Nolan Ryan (Rainyday's
Nolan Ryan) and Wes (Spark's son, Pacific's Western Sunset NAJ)to TN for the
AKC shows in Memphis.
Hi everybody,
WOW!! I just returned home and came to the computer to brag on my boys and
I had 65 emails to read, mostly from this group. Sounds like the Rainyday
group is proving they are winners again this weekend. First I want to
congratulate everyone who has bragged another big and very sincere
congratulations.
This weekend we took my boys to Memphis TN for the Showcase of DOGS, lots of
fun things going on there. Nolan was entered in conformation both days.
Today he went RWD under judge James Ham. To bad for us, if he had won WD
instead it would have been a major, but Reserve is better than nothing at
all, I guess. Wes was entered in Novice B obedience. He only needed one
leg for finish his AKC CD, which he did on Saturday. Our score was only 182
this time, but I think most of it was due to handling. I had to go first
because of conflicts with Nolan's class and I warmed him up and then the
judge had to take an unexpected break which turned our warm up time into too
much. Anyway he was still very respectable. He is a very good boy in the
ring. I opted not to show him today since he and Nolan conflicted again.

September

We had a blast at the AKC show in Roswell, NM. This was our first
weekend to have Ivy (AKC/ASCA CH Rainyday's For Your Eyes Only) back home
and she had a great time - winning BOB and a Group Three on Sunday.
July
4-5

We had a fabulous time at the AKC show in Dallas. On Friday,
Eleanor (ASCA CH Rainyday's Eleanor Rigby) was RWB to the four pt major and
Laura Baar's boy Tony (ASCA CH Rainyday's Make My Heart Sing AKC/ASCA CD) was
RWD to the four pt major. On Saturday, client bitch Snow owned by Janet Loehr (ASCA
CH Po's Look At Me), was RWB and on Sunday Charlie (ASCA CH Rainyday's Playin'
With The Boys) was WB/BOW for a three pt major, Tony (ASCA CH Rainyday's Make My
Heart Sing AKC/ASCA CD) was WD for a three pt major and Ron and Karen Bailey's
boy Cody (ASCA CH Rainyday's In The Wild West) was RWD.
We also got this awesome note from Linda Grant in CA:
This past weekend, Elki (Merlin x Violet) finished
her Open Sheep title in ASCA with a 2nd place. She was entered in Open sheep
and ducks. No luck on the ducks at all. But Bruce moved Elki up to Advanced
Sheep on Sunday, and although she didn't qualify she did quite well for such a
young dog. We have another trial in two weekends, and then one the first
weekend in August, so we are keeping our fingers crossed she can move out of
Open in ducks and cattle, too, and be in Advanced.
So she is now:
Rainyday's C Ya' at Da' Top, CGC, HSAs, STDdc, OTDs
Linda
And... we also heard from Nellie Morack in MI:
Izzy and I went to Sarnia CKC show
Friday and she was WB/BOS/BW to get the 3 points she needed to finish her CKC
CH.
She is now CKC/UKC CH Rainyday's In Your Dreams.
And... we also heard from Laura McClary in TX:
Hi everyone:
Phoenix, Mayzie and I were in the New Hope NADAC show in College Station this
weekend. Mayzie did not Q on Saturday at all, but got her "sea legs" on Sunday,
and qualified with a Q and 1st in Novice Regular, a Q and 2nd in Novice Jumpers,
and a Q and 2nd in Novice Tunnelers. I am very proud of my little red girl.
Phoenix did well also. He got a Q in Elite Jumpers, a Q in Elite Regular on
Saturday, then on Sunday, he got a Q in Elite Jumpers, and a Q in Elite Regular,
and Q in Elite Tunnelers. My dashboard was filled with Q ribbons coming home.
