Spark is an outgoing imp. His movement is stunning and his personality winning. Spark hit the show ring with a blast -- winning WD/BOW at his first AKC show at seven months, and WD/BOW at his second AKC show at eight months. He finished his ASCA championship at 13 months in 8 days of showing, and followed that with his AKC championship at 17 months. Spark shows a great deal of natural talent on sheep and was trained and trialed by Marie and Alan Koebke of Alamar. After three weeks of training Spark attended his first trial where he earned his HT.
Spark attended his first ASCA nationals in 2001 where he showed in two of the pre-shows. On Sunday he made the cut from 65+ dog specials to 20 and on Monday he won a Premier award! Thank you to Charmaine Melton for this special win.
Spark attended the 2004 AKC Nationals where he placed 4th in the tough Stud Dog class and also made the cut in breed. At Spark's second USASA Nationals, in 2005, he placed 2nd in the tough Stud Dog class and also earned one of the seven AOM's awarded in BOB.
Spark is a consistent BOB winner in both AKC and ASCA and is an AKC group winner as well. He ended 2006 ranked in the top twenty in AKC (breed pts) and ended 2005 ranked in the top twenty in ASCA.
At the 2008 USASA nationals, Spark earned an AOM. Although nine years old, he was entered in regular best of breed and certainly held his own against the young guys!
At the 2009 ASCA nationals, Spark earned a Premier Award at the Monday pre-show. Although he is almost eleven years old, Spark was entered in regular best of breed and certainly held his own against the many outstanding young dogs!
Spark is standing to a limited number of approved bitches and has been proving himself as a outstanding stud dog. With a limited number of litters on the ground, Spark puppies are excelling in a variety of venues. In fact, he has titled pups in conformation, obedience, herding and agility. Spark is a HOF sire in ASCA and a ROM XII and ROM I C sire in USASA.
